THE SURFACE!
Thanks to Klout.com I had the pleasure of attending the launch of Windows 8 and the Surface at MICROTROPOLIS in NYC. The entire evening was magical and space age!! The city they built was amazing. Having so many products to try out-hands on was awesome. The food and drinks were delicious and ample! The entire evening was a success.
Upon walking in you are immediately immersed in a different world. It is dark and there are buildings built all over to form a city, NYC! Around the perimeter were huge screens with waves to really make you feel that you were on the isle of Manhattan!
Originally I didn’t feel that I needed a Surface but as the weeks go by I wish I had one. It is just the right size and weight to come anywhere with me. I found it easy to navigate and am thinking it would be great to take to events like this one! It was wafer thin, very impressive, and had a stand that popped out so you could actually watch something on it without holding it. But by far the best feature is the cover/keyboard. I really missed having a keyboard on other devices I have owned. AND it is waterproof! Sounds more and more like a win win for me!
Windows 8 has a touch screen so I was sold right away. It was really fast and easy to navigate. I found I couldn’t stop playing with the draw on screen feature that was set up on many of the screens!
All in all it was really a magical night for me. I was really happy to have been included in the launch! Thank you to Microsoft and Klout. XO R

ARGO SCREENING IN NYC 10/11/12

The above invitation was extended to me from KLOUT.
It proved to be a perfect NYC night, thank you Klout! I don’t feel I can write as good a review of the movie as **Rolling Stone Magazine so I have provided one from Peter Travers below. Why reinvent the wheel! I can say, being the type of girl I am, I didn’t think the movie would be the highlight, I was more interested in socializing 😉 but I was wrong! The movie was exciting, held my interest in a edge of the seat kind of way, and a story worth sharing. The type of story where everyone cheers at the end!
Without any hesitation I can tell you about how much fun we had at this event! We were greeted by Cadillac, photographed with their new ATS and XTS and invited to sit in the cars to get the whole experience. They really are luxurious – my favorite part being the HUGE display screen for your GPS etc.
We went upstairs for drinks and appys, both of which were delicious They had themed drinks, very clever, and really good food!
There was a nicely mixed crowd, including some of the NY usuals that you see everywhere you go! I did get to network too, which is what us bloggers live for! To meet our peers that we know cyber-ly but not in person! And yes, the shoes! Always love to find my fav pair of the night to share with you!

Just so we’re straight, Ben Affleck doesn’t merely direct Argo, he directs the hell out of it, nailing the quickening pace, the wayward humor, the nerve-frying suspense. Hold off on the sniping. I didn’t say Affleck was the next Hitchcock. I’m saying job well done. Argo takes Matt Damon’s BFF out of his native Boston, where his first two directing jobs were set (Gone Baby Gone, The Town), and zaps him onto a global stage, namely the 1979 Iran hostage crisis that saw 52 Americans held captive for 444 days. Affleck does himself proud, detailing the attack on the American Embassy in Tehran by Islamic student militants and the plight of six U.S. embassy staffers who escaped but needed help to get out alive. Argo is a ferociously exciting thriller. Yes, it’s based on fact. Yes, that’s Hollywood code for truth-stretching.
